Wellness Exams

Maintaining your pet’s quality of life

As a pet owner, you play a crucial role in ensuring your pet’s wellbeing and health. Just like you, pets need proper nutrition, regular exercise, dental care, and vaccinations to stay healthy and avoid potentially serious diseases. Unlike us, pets can’t tell us when something feels wrong, so it’s up to us to be vigilant and proactive.

Illness can go unrecognised in your pets. That’s why our vet strongly advises regular pet wellness examinations. These exams are a powerful tool to uncover and detect hidden diseases, allowing us to treat and prevent illnesses. By scheduling these regular check-ups, you can take control of your pet’s health, ensuring they stay happy and healthy.

What happens during a wellness exam?

1

During the visit, our veterinarian will perform a nose-to-tail physical exam, checking your pet’s eyes, ears, mouth, skin, and coat for any abnormalities. He’ll listen to their heart and lungs, assess their weight and body condition, and check for lumps or signs of discomfort. Preventive care, like vaccinations and parasite prevention, may also be updated. If needed, we’ll discuss nutrition, exercise, dental care, and any behavioral or medical concerns. Wellness exams help catch potential issues early, keeping your pet healthy and happy.

Second, we may recommend diagnostic and screening tests as part of your pet's wellness exam. Rest assured, we will fully explain why these tests are important and provide a clear breakdown of any associated costs.

We recommend at least an annual wellness exam for your pets who are usually fit and healthy and will make recommendations around health check frequency if your pet is elderly, over-weight or has on-going health problems.

We want you to know that your pet is in good hands with our veterinary team.
